I could not find the help I needed. So I wrote it.

I am not a dog trainer. I am a father who failed three times.

Three dogs, the same breed each time, and every one of them gone by month three. My children loved him and had no rules. My wife was afraid of dogs and nobody had designed around that. I was at work. Three times I rehomed a dog who had done nothing wrong.

When I looked for help, there was plenty about training the dog and almost nothing about running the house he was coming into — who does what, at seven in the morning and at midnight, and what happens to the person who never wanted him.

So I built it. For my own children, on paper, before the fourth dog arrived.

He stayed. His name is Oden.

These are parts of that system, written for the situations where people usually go looking for help and do not find any. They are free. If they help one family keep their dog, they have done more than a sale would.

If you would like one of these in a different format — for a programme, a handout, a school, a shelter — write to me and I will make it.
