The Training Assumption

Every dog training book starts from the same assumption: you already have the dog.

But training is only half the equation. The other half is whether the family is prepared.

Training teaches the dog to sit. It doesn't teach the family who takes the dog out at 6 AM.

Training doesn't teach the family how to handle 3-5 hours of daily care.

Training doesn't address the fact that Mum feels trapped.

Training doesn't teach children that caring means showing up when you're bored.

Training without environmental management is like teaching someone to swim in a tsunami.

A system for the family, not just the dog.

The family system includes roles, house setup, Mum's space protection, reset protocols, and the Family Readiness Test.

Dog pees inside → "We need better training" → Real problem: nobody is taking the dog out on a schedule

Dog jumps on kids → "We need obedience" → Real problem: kids are overstimulating the dog

Dog barks at night → "We need crate training" → Real problem: dog has too much freedom
